Michael A Wasemiller, DDS | Bone Grafting in Murrieta

Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is a common periodontal procedure and has different purposes.  2 of the main purposes are:

-to build up the jawbone to accommodate a dental implant to help restore function and esthetics.

-in certain cases, to replace missing bone around a tooth that has been lost from periodontal disease

Different sources of bone graft include:

-the patient's own bone,  cadaver bone (the most common),  and bovine (cow)

Cadaver and cow bone come from tissue banks and are a very safe source for bone donation and provide predictable results
